Fire Hose Games, the development team behind Slam Bolt Scrappers, an interesting looking PSN game, are reaching out to their fans to name 2 characters in the game.
Slam Bolt Scrappers itself is an intriguing mash-up of building and brawling. The idea is to build the greatest towers in Slam Bolt City, all the while defending against various opponents and bosses. Quoting from their press release:
Up to four friends can play together in the co-op campaign or go head to head in the simple, yet surprisingly deep competitive battle mode. Combat centers around an exciting original combatmechanic in which you build missile launchers, laser batteries, high tech shielding, and other weaponrywith colorful blocks while brawling through a cast of memorable enemies.
A further press release sent out today stated that Eitan Glinert, Fire Chief, said this when confronted in his off-grid development cave about character naming:
“Who are you people, and what are you doing in my shack? What do you mean, we need more character names? Well, why don’t we just let those good for nothing slacker fans decide, like they did for the Child’s Play charity?
Now leave me alone so I can put more ninjas in this game.”
In early December, Fire Hose Games held two auctions for the rights to name a character in the game, with all proceeds going to the Child’s Play charity. With the success of this brilliant scheme, now it’s your choice to decide on a name! But, who are the two characters to name, I hear you all impatiently asking (in my mind)? Well, just check out these videos:
“The Masked Menace”
Head over to the poll on their brand spanking new website to vote on your favorite names, then sit tight for their announcement of the results next week!
Slam Bolt Scrappers will be available exclusively on the PSN. No release date has been set as of yet, but we’ll be keeping a close eye on this one, and make sure to update you all once more info trickles through.
