Give A Sick Kid GameFly for Christmas

Hey everyone, the Holiday Season is in full swing and it’s time to be thankful for all that we have. I know, I know – Thanksgiving is already past. However, Christmas is coming up, and it’s never too late to help a sick kid!

Joshua Meeker is a 12 year-old boy battling cancer. More specifically, he has leukemia and a rare type at that – Burkitts Leukemia. It’s not common, and only about 1% of all kids who get leukemia get Burkitts. At any rate, he’s gone through a lot (and will continue to), but has really kept a positive spirit about it. What’s that video gaming community (and anyone else who may have stumbled across this? You want to know how you can help out? Joshua loves video games! So, we are going to raise some money for a Gamefly subscription! If you’re unfamiliar with Gamefly – essentially, it’s the video game equivalent of Netflix.

The best part about this, it’s pretty cheap and we could easily raise enough money to keep the subscription going! Don’t tell me that you don’t have enough money to donate because I’ve made it so that every penny counts. You can donate $1, $5, $10, or as much as you want to help Joshua (and his little sister, Grace) have some fun while the family endures this sickness.

A few disclaimers and other tips for you. If we raise more than seems necessary for Gamefly subscriptions, the money will be used to buy other toys, gifts, etc. for Joshua and his family. If there is an abundant response (and I hope there is!) the remainder not used to purchase items will be given to the Meeker family in a form of a check – to help out with costs associated with treatments, travel, etc. Finally, if you have any video games you just don’t want anymore and would like to donate them to Joshua – or if you would even like to purchase new games for him, feel free to contact me at [email protected] and we will work out the details!
