  • Max Payne 3 | Review (Xbox 360)

I stared back at the vile grimace from the man on the cover. This wretched, self-loathing and depressed pile of garbage was to entertain me for at least six hours. The controller shook and the credits rolled. Leaning back into my chair, I felt a sense of exhaustion and thoughts riddled my mind like Max’s bullet riddled body. Had Rockstar done what they set out to do? Or had their weird style got... more.

Okay, so let’s let the formalities out of the way first. In 1997 Duke Nukem Forever was announced to the world and set for 1998. After unforeseeable delays the game made minor appearances in trailers and leaked screenshots over the course of the next 14 years. I’ve been following the game since I found out about it on Wikipedia back in 2006 and class Duke Nukem 3D as one of my all ti... more.
  • E3 2011: EA’s Press Conference Wrap Up

Coming hot off of Microsoft's conference was EA, flaunting their wares for all to see. No one was expecting anything out of the blue, but the games and software on show was certainly impressive. Mass Effect 3, Battlefield 3 and a new IP from Insomniac, EA certainly held their own this year. Let's dive in, shall we? As the show opened, Mass Effect 3 trailer was plastered upon the screen, what wa... more.
  • Overthinking: Half Life and Portal

In this series, I hope to tear apart a series of games. Spoiler alert throughout. I also am presuming you know what I'm whibbling on about. I think first I'd like to cover the Portal series, touching upon Half Life (which occurs in the same time line) and just what Valve does to make you feel for the characters you interact with. They have a strange habit of keeping the two protagonists, Chell... more.

The BBC have had a subtle trend going on throughout 2010 and it's still here in 2011; rather awfully made, budget games. When I received a code for Dragon's Den I was quite excited, "an RPG or action orientated game? For me?!" I was wrong. See, I only watch the BBC on a Saturday for Doctor Who and even the BBC have ruined that with a simplistic adventure game and rather nasty Wii ... more.
  • Mega Man 2 | Review (iOS)

Fear not ladies and gents, I am not here to overdo the excellence that is Retro Rewind, but to merely give an opinion on a port of a retro game (I swear it's not the same thing). As we can all agree, the NES is regarded to hold some of the most difficult games of all time, and the Mega Man series? Well, it relishes in it. I was moderately suspicious of the Mega Man 2 port for iPod an... more.
  • Crysis 2 Multiplayer Beta Impressions

2 CommentsPosted by on January 26, 2011 under Featured, General Gaming, Headlines, Xbox 360
Crysis has always been the benchmark for PC gaming; if it can run Crysis, it can run anything. Now Crytek have given console gamers a chance to delve into the brutal world of Crysis with the sequel, but how does it stack up against the rest? The point of a beta is to break things and see what you can do to gain the advantage before the game is ultimately fixed. I did just that and leave a com... more.
